Bought a new crossbow (Killer Instinct Vital-X)
Having shot it, I definitely have mixed feelings about it. Power is great (185# 405 fps) The description claimed that it delivered 142 foot-pounds on impact!
But I'm not buying that claim, I would expect it to have enough power to through and through a good sized buck though.
I used a digital scope that records your shot. Even with a different scope than the one that came with, Accuracy was in my opinion quite excellent, being able to keep a 3 inch group at 30 yd. I'm certain that the OEM scope would do just as well if not better, since it has a sharper clearer image being optical.
In My opinion, the negatives aren't a deal breaker, but they will affect how I use it. For me the front was to heavy and the pistol grip too narrow, the weight is good for accuracy and noise/vibration dampening but made it awkward for me to carry.
The Dead Silent crank was my biggest problem, and I might never use it again! It is not silent, and it is awkward to put on and take off. And I don't like placing fingers any where near that cocked string!
SO we have a solid, sleek, accurate, and powerful crossbow, that's a tad awkward too cock and carry!
